Wilmington Earn 5-3 Victory at The Hangar
|
Though he had a terrific game, Josh Mandeville could not prevent his team, the Lancaster JetHawks, from absorbing a loss. Wilmington won the game, 5-3. Mandeville went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Joe Seales was credited with the save for Wilmington, his 13th of the season. The JetHawks, now 27-29, have lost 5 in a row.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Jim Webb? The 23-year old first baseman Webb stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Wilmington up, 4-0. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
"We ground out the win," said Webb. "That's all that matters."
