Drooping Blue Rocks Lose 10th Straight
The Down East Wood Ducks weathered an outstanding game by Wilmington right fielder Shane Williams to topple the Blue Rocks, 5-4. Williams went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Willie Trespalacios. He is now 2-1. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Mike Emge recorded the save, his 10th.

Down East took a 5-4 lead on Kevin Rager's 5th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Rager hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Wilmington pitcher Johnny Murguia shaking his head.

"We just can't get over the hump," said losing manager .

The Blue Rocks, now 18-30, have lost 10 in a row.
