The Wilmington Blue Rocks got a good effort from starter Joey Lown in defeating the Stockton Ports at Daniel S. Frawley Stadium. The final score was 3-2. The winner was Lown. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Curt Mierzejewski. Wilmington is now 18-20, while Stockton is 19-19.
Jake West, who leads the CC in bases on balls with 50, helped out the Wilmington cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the first baseman drew 1 walk in 4 plate appearances.
Stockton manager said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
