With 5-1 Win, Giants Go to 23-8
San Jose starter Sachdev Koppolu put the Lancaster offense in a vise grip. The right-hander relied heavily on his cutter in leading the Giants to a 5-1 win. Koppolu, now 3-0, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 4, and allowing 1 run. Mike Newberg was credited with the save for San Jose, his 9th of the season.

Mario Fraga broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the second with a run-scoring ground out. It put the Giants in front, 2-1. For the game, Fraga was 1 for 3 with a walk.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Koppolu.

San Jose is now 23-8.
