Quakes Tack 2-1 Loss on Giants
|
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes beat the San Jose Giants, 2-1, at Excite Ballpark. Starting pitcher Nate Paar was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Paar yielded 1 run over 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-0. The Giants fall to 9-12 and continue their lackluster start to the 2058 season.
Aaron Roberts had a direct impact on the outcome. Roberts contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth inning to put Rancho Cucamonga up, 2-1.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Quakes manager .
