Tight Tilt Goes to Doubledays, 3-2
|
Hurler Jose Diaz gave the Auburn Doubledays a solid start. The native of Santo Domingo, Distrito Nacional helped his team defeat the State College Spikes, 3-2, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Auburn is now 42-18. State College is 16-44.
Auburn used a well-timed hit by Jon Hendrickson to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Doubledays ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Hendrickson said.
