Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Batavia Muckdogs and Staten Island Yankees.

The Batavia Muckdogs handed the Staten Island Yankees a sound defeat, 11-1, at Dwyer Stadium. Manny Ronquillo, who is tied for 3rd in the NYP in triples with 3, was a main contributor to the win. He was 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for Batavia. The Muckdogs bumped their record to 30-30 with this latest triumph.

Ben Tidwell had a big 2-run home run for the Muckdogs in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Batavia leading 3-1 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Mike Arnesen, who is tied for 6th in the NYP with a 7.1 K/9 rate, and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Muckdogs on top, 5-1.

"We were able to put some good swings on some pitches," Ronquillo told the Batavia Gazette.
