The Brooklyn Cyclones defeated the State College Spikes, 6-1. Doing his part was right fielder Victor Valdivia, who went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. At 33-16, the Cyclones have a slim two-game lead in the New York-Penn League South Division.

With Brooklyn leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Valdivia hit a splitter from Jim Flowers for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Cyclones ahead, 5-0.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Valdivia told the Brooklyn Observer.
