The Reading Braves downed the Lowell Spinners, 13-5. The hitting star was center fielder Alex Diaz. Diaz belted 2 home runs for the Braves. Marco Frias snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Jim Underwood suffered the loss. The 5th-place Braves now sit at 21-21.

Danny Noguera had a big 3-run home run for the Braves in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Reading trailing 4-3 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 17-year old right-handed pitcher Jim Underwood and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Braves on top, 6-4.

"The most important thing is that we won," Diaz said.
