Crosscutters Rally to Win
|
The Williamsport Crosscutters had to overcome a good performance from Staten Island pitcher Dave Low to claim a 3-1 win at Richmond County Bank Ballpark. Low went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Williamsport reliever Neil Selkirk picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jaheim Timmons was saddled with the loss. Today's win puts Williamsport at 10-33, while Staten Island falls to 33-10.
Chris Mayer had a direct impact on the outcome. Mayer contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the ninth inning to put Williamsport up, 3-1.
"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Mayer told the Williamsport Chronicle. "Whatever it takes."
