In a low-scoring contest between the Brooklyn Cyclones and the Staten Island Yankees, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Jon Saldana proved to be the difference. The Brooklyn right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-2 Cyclones win. Donnie Harris earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record is now 1-0. Brooklyn is now 25-15, Staten Island 31-9.

Brooklyn went up, 3-2, on Mike Wallace's 2nd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Wallace hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Staten Island pitcher Josh Carpenter stewing.
