Krueger Shines in 6-2 Reading Win
|
Behind a fine performance from Mike Krueger, the Reading Braves knocked off the Aberdeen Ironbirds, 6-2. Krueger went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Braves. Reading pitcher Randy Hisel earned the win, hiking his record to 4-1. Jose Perdomo suffered the loss. Reading, now 22-14, holds down 4th place in the New York-Penn League South Division.
With Reading leading 3-2 in the top of the eighth, Krueger hit a run-scoring single off Aberdeen hurler Kornel Mares. It was the 28th hit of the season for Krueger and put his team ahead, 4-2.
"This was a total team effort," said Krueger.
