White Sox Deal Spikes 4-3 Defeat
|
The Albany White Sox picked up a win at Baseball City Complex, taking down the State College Spikes, 4-3. Starting pitcher Andy Hedquist was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Hedquist surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 3 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs. Albany occupies 7th place in the New York-Penn League North Division at 14-26.
Art Adams drew 4 walks. He drove in 2 runs for Albany. With two out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, Adams, who is tied for 8th in the NYP in RBI with 25, had a clutch at-bat. Facing State College hurler Dan Gilmore, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the White Sox a 4-3 lead.
"I still have a lot of confidence in this team," Albany manager said afterward.
