Muckdogs Upend Doubledays, 6-4
|
Erik Blanton had a good game, but he could not keep the Auburn Doubledays from falling, 6-4, to the Batavia Muckdogs at Dwyer Stadium. The Auburn left fielder was 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. The win went to Luis Ramirez in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Edwin Ibarra took the loss. Earning his 5th save of the year was T.J. Stailey.
Had Danny Ojeda not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Ojeda hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 5-4, in favor of the Muckdogs.
Batavia manager said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
Batavia occupies 5th place in the New York-Penn League North Division at 9-9.
