The Mahoning Valley Scrappers banked on Kevin Saulsbury and he turned in a masterful performance. The right-hander kept the Albany hitters in check. The final score was 2-1, Scrappers. The Scrappers move to 10-9 with the win, while the White Sox drop to 4-15.

The Scrappers got an important contribution from right fielder Chris Hays, who in the bottom of the third hit a fastball to left-center for a run-scoring triple. It was his 2nd triple of the season and put the Scrappers ahead, 2-0.

"Win or lose," Saulsbury reflected afterward, "baseball is a beautiful game."
