Crosscutters Done In By Spikes, 6-5

Robby Shaw did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Williamsport Crosscutters from being beaten, 6-5, to the State College Spikes at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. Shaw was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Edgar Ortiz got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings. With the win over Williamsport, the Spikes improved to 4-11.
Alex Cabral aided the State College cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder drew 1 walk.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Cabral. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
