Drooping Spikes Lose 7th Straight
The State College Spikes got a superb performance from pitcher Curt Johnson, but the Williamsport Crosscutters still won the game, 5-3. Johnson threw 5.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The win went to Tim Lambert in relief, making him now 1-1. Jose Lovera took the loss for State College. To call the performance of the 2059 Spikes disappointing is an understatement.

Jeremy Starchman went 1 for 2 with a walk against the Spikes. With the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Williamsport in front, 4-3.
