Muckdogs Clip White Sox, 4-3
|
The Batavia Muckdogs defeated the Albany White Sox, 4-3, in New York-Penn League action at Baseball City Complex. Batavia pitcher Victor Enriquez had a standout performance. Enriquez, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. T.J. Stailey earned the save for Batavia, his 2nd of the year.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the seventh, with the game tied, Josh Westbrook was at the plate when Batavia scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Muckdogs to go in front, 4-3.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager .
The win lifts Batavia to a record of 5-6.
