Reading Absorbs 3-0 Loss to Lowell
|
The Reading Braves could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Randy Hisel into a win. Instead, the Lowell Spinners prevailed, 3-0. Hisel threw 5.2 innings allowing 2 runs. Jon Hines closed the game out for Lowell, earning his 3rd save. The loss lowers the Reading record to 7-7.
The Spinners got a big boost from third baseman Doug McPherson who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fifth inning off Braves hurler Randy Hisel. It was his 4th RBI of the season and put Lowell on top, 1-0.
"Winning never gets dull," said McPherson.
