Sea Unicorns, Kinney Pin Bad Loss on Yankees
|
The Norwich Sea Unicorns and Staten Island Yankees completed their game despite the inclement weather.
The Norwich Sea Unicorns captured an easy win, 12-2, over the Staten Island Yankees at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Josh Kinney led the offensive barrage, going 4-for-4 for Norwich. The winning pitcher was Victor Velazquez. His record now stands at 1-0. The right-hander went 5 innings, allowing 2 runs on 5 hits for the Sea Unicorns. Picking up the save was Danny Moore, his 1st.
The Norwich dugout showed signs of unrest at times. But the Sea Unicorns put this one in the win column with some good pitching and some timely hitting at critical moments.
The loss makes Staten Island 3-2.
