Las Vegas Loses Chris Wooldridge for Season Saturday, June 2nd , 2001 The Las Vegas Athletics and their fans were rocked today by the news that star starting pitcher Chris Wooldridge would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Wooldridge was hurt in a recent game against the New York Yankees while throwing a pitch. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn flexor tendon in his elbow. His doctors think that Wooldridge will miss about 12-13 months. To date this season, Wooldridge has registered 11 starts, 3-5 won-lost mark, 4.57 ERA, 61 IP, 59 strikeouts and 32 walks. Opposing teams have hit .265 against him. |
