Braves Suffer 2-0 Loss to Athletics
|
Las Vegas took on Atlanta in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Aaron Malone, in particular, was fantastic. The Las Vegas right-hander helped his team snag the win, 2-0. Malone, now 7-5, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 6, walking 6, and allowing no runs. Gianpaolo Squillari was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 17 of 22 save opportunities.
Las Vegas took a 2-0 lead on Danny Sabia's 2nd home run of the season. The solo home run, which Sabia hit in the top of the seventh, left Atlanta pitcher Tejano Cruz visibly frustrated.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Sabia.
The third-place Athletics sport a record of 31-40.
