Behind a solid performance from third baseman Matt Chapman, the San Francisco Giants defeated the Kansas City Royals, 4-1. Chapman was 3-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Giants. The loss drops Kansas City to 15-14.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth. That's when Chapman hit a solo home run off Shota Imanaga. It propelled the Giants into the lead, 1-0.
