Panaderos Heading to Campeonato Veraniego de Principiantes Friday, September 1st , 1905 The championship aspirations of the Patillas Panaderos are still alive and well, while the Utuado Serranos are left to wait until next year. Patillas won the clinching game of the Campeonato de las Ligas 3-2 over Utuado at Parquecito de Patillas, to win the series 3-1. "You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said second baseman Édgar Velásquez, who paced the Patillas offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit." Velásquez claimed the MVP by racking up 6 hits for a .429 average, with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 5 RBI and scored 8 runs. The Patillas Panaderos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Bayamon Herradones - San German Hermosos series. San German leads the series 2 games to 1.
