Players Suspended in Defensores-Ciudadanos Donnybrook Monday, August 14th , 1905 Yesterday at Parquecito de Dorado Laertes Ceron and Zacarías Jiménez got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Dorado Defensores and San Juan Ciudadanos. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Ceron will have to sit out 3 while Jiménez would be given a 6-game suspension for their roles in the brawl. For the year, Ceron is batting .267 with 22 home runs, 56 RBIs and 45 runs scored. So far this year, Jiménez has nailed down no saves. His won-lost record is 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA. |
