Bautista, Zúñiga Suspended for Fracas Wednesday, July 26th , 1905 If there wasn't a history between Jesús Bautista of Guayama and Zoilo Zúñiga of Maunabo, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 2 and 5 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Bautista said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Bautista is batting .268 with 1 home runs and 8 RBIs this season. To date this season, Zúñiga has registered 17 starts, 9-8 won-lost mark, 4.06 ERA, 130.2 IP, 111 strikeouts and 57 walks. Opposing teams have hit .228 against him. |
