Mentor Wins Interleague Series
Sunday, October 27th , 1907
Advancing to the Pennant Series was "never in doubt" for the Mentor Rose Stockings, said Darío Domínguez.
"The Irondequoit Peach Kings are a great team, but we knew we were going to come out on top," Domínguez said after the Interleague Series was clinched 3-1, with a 3-0 win at The Rosebush. "If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet against us."
Irondequoit manager Gregorio Sanabria gave credit to the winners, saying he had expected his club to put up a better fight.
Domínguez was named series MVP, on the strength of his 0.00 ERA over 11.1 innings pitched, with a 1-0 record and 9 strikeouts.
The Mentor Rose Stockings don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the London Regulars - Syracuse Halites series. London leads the series 2 games to 1. The Pennant Series schedule will be announced after the Interleague Series finishes.
