Solano Beguiles Marquette Saturday, November 10th , 1906 Nerón Solano had an impressive outing at Pig Iron Stadium, hurling the Grand Marais Voyageurs to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Marquette Smelters. "He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Marquette skipper Randy Silander said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders." On the day, the right-handed Solano yielded 7 hits and tallied 1 strikeout with 3 walks.
