Gatekeepers Fizzle in 1-0 Loss to River Hogs
Monday, September 11th , 1905
Before the game, Serafín García said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at The Gatehouse, the River Hogs pitcher blanked the Nashua Gatekeepers, 1-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," García said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my changeup even when I was behind in the count."
The Bangor starter held Nashua scoreless, giving up 5 hits while registering 6 strikeouts and issuing 2 walks.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Gatekeepers manager Leoncio Jiménez said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
To date this year, in 30 starts, García has crafted a 20-10 mark with a 2.53 ERA.
