Florido and Gómez Fight, Get Suspended Thursday, September 7th , 1905 Prisco Florido of the Barre Headstones and Cleto Gómez of the Rutland Quarrymen will be on the sidelines for a few days. They have been suspended for 2 and 5 games respectively by the league office for causing the bench-emptying free-for-all at the recent Headstones-Quarrymen game at The Pit. Neither player had any comment about the suspensions. Both clubs told BNN Florido and Gómez will begin serving them soon. This season, Florido has banged out 60 hits in 258 at-bats for a .233 average with 4 home runs. He is getting on base at a .283 pace and his totals also include 24 RBIs and 22 runs scored. This season, Gómez has compiled a 11-16 record with a 2.73 ERA in 30 starts. |
