Dixon Thwarts Templeton, 1-0
Wednesday, September 30th , 1903
In an impressive outing, Adam Dixon blanked the Templeton Red Onions 1-0.
"I'm getting a lot more downward movement instead of side to side. That side-to-side stuff can get hit a long way," said Dixon, who is throwing with more of an overhand motion.
"It's not rocket science. It was just a little adjustment, but that's all it took."
The New Haven hurler held Templeton scoreless, allowed 6 hits, chalked up 8 strikeouts and yielded no walks.
So far this year, Dixon has made 32 starts, tossed 275.2 innings, struck out 128 batters and walked 30. His record is 19-12 with a 3.72 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .307 batting average.
