Arce Gets 5 Hits
Thursday, June 7th , 1906
It was a good day at Yardmen Park. The Wichita Falls Yardmen whipped the Abilene Preachers, 6-5, and first baseman Pedro Arce showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-5 at the plate.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Arce told BNN reporters after the game.
Yardmen manager Kevin Kerfoot told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 15-year-old "focused and patient."
"It's not luck," the skipper said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Pedro hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
Pedro Arce doubled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 10th.
Thus far this year, Arce has hit .351 with no home runs and 6 RBIs.
