Zero Hour: García Blanks Privateers
Monday, May 1st , 1905
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Tobías García of the Lachute Supercalandres proved the point at Supercalenders Park, holding the Sherbrooke Privateers to 2 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"García made us look real bad today," Privateers manager Tom Richards said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
García had 2 strikeouts and gave up 4 walks as the Supercalandres took the 8-0 win.
