Vikings End Gallegos Streak Wednesday, September 6th , 1905 It was a doubly miserable day for Jesús Gallegos of the Galway Harbourmasters, as he saw his 23-game hitting streak end and his team lose, 4-2, to the Dublin Vikings at Harbourmasters Field. The 23-year-old second baseman was held hitless in 3 at-bats by the Vikings. "Anyone on a 23-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Dublin manager Derek Shanks said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Currently Gallegos has 8 home runs and a .285 batting average. |
