Steadman Wins LBI Manager of the Year Trophy Thursday, October 8th , 1903 Cork manager Neil Steadman was selected as the 1903 League of the British Isles Manager of the Year today. He was somewhat of a dark horse next to some of the more flashy managers up for the award. Steadman, who prefers that everyone call him "Cap" or "Skip," tries to shy away from the limelight in a media-driven world. "It's really unfair to the guys that busted their humps all year long to put all the focus on me now. They showed up early, put in extra time in the cage, worked on their fielding, consulted with our coaching staff and really made 1903 a highlight in my career." In fairness to this year's Manager of the Year, Steadman certainly played an important part in the Salmon success as he guided them to a first place finish in the Sraith Daorchluiche na hEireann and a 72-48 record. |
