Stevedores Won't Get Playoff Berth Wednesday, August 26th , 1903 The Newport Stevedores were stuck in the middle this season -- not competitive enough in the playoff chase to be considered relevant, but not far enough behind to be completely written off. Until now, that is -- today, the Stevedores were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention. Newport hasn't yet made it to the postseason. The team has now missed qualifying for the postseason in each of their 3 seasons in the LBI. |
