Phillies, Bisons Trade Players Thursday, December 17th , 1903 In a move that has fans in both cities buzzing, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Buffalo Bisons have agreed to a deal that will have 24-year old 3B Kid Elberfeld heading to Buffalo in exchange for 30-year old RHP Brent Mattern. Provided they pass a physical, the players should be with their respective teams in time for tomorrow's games. Elberfeld has 133 career hits with a .246 batting average and 2 home runs. The 30-year-old Mattern has sat down 330 batters on strikes, walked 305 and put up a 3.25 ERA. His career won-lost record is 40-54. |
