The hottest hurler in the Border League this season was Adam Dixon of the Tempe Olympians. He caught the attention of everybody in the league on his way to winning the 1897 LRB-BL Bola de Fuego.
Dixon starred with an impressive 29-10 record in 41 starts. The Olympians ace gave up 289 base hits and struck out 239 in 374 innings with a 1.44 ERA.
