Olympians Blanked by Cornell, 3-0 Wednesday, August 4th , 1897 In a very sharp performance at Tempe Stadium, Nazir Cornell of the Tucson Highwaymen blanked the Tempe Olympians, 3-0. He permitted 8 hits and finished with 4 strikeouts and 2 walks in the Highwaymen victory. "Nazir goes out there and just goes about his business," Highwaymen manager Juan Vences said in his postgame press conference. "I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. No matter the pitch, you know he's going to be where he needs to be." To date Cornell is 22-15 in 38 starts with a 1.72 ERA and has 249 strikeouts in 339.2 innings.
