Cuervos Win, 4-0, as Rodríguez Mystifies Rio Grande Saturday, November 17th , 1906 The Rio Grande Cotorras manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Patillas Cuervos. The Cotorras were overpowered by Patillas starter Armando Rodríguez, who hurled his club to victory, 4-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Prisco Aguilera said. Over 9 innings, Rodríguez blanked Rio Grande on 4 hits with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Rodríguez said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." In 44 starts this season, Rodríguez has picked up 33 wins while suffering 12 losses.
