Naguabo Sweeps Carolina Sunday, November 26th , 1905 The Naguabo Navegadores ignited a huge celebration as they beat the Carolina Tumbabrazos 3-1 to win the Campeonato Nacional Puertorriqueño. Naguabo won the series 5-0, capturing the title for the 2nd time. "We stepped it up at the right time, and now we're the champs," said Naguabo manager Herminio Salcedo Díaz. "It's a great feeling." The champs finished the regular season 121-47 and claimed first place in the Liga Betances Noreste. In the jubilant clubhouse after the decisive game, series MVP and shortstop Benigno Valdez said the Navegadores have "great fans and they deserve this."
