León Shuts Out Tejedores, 1-0 Tuesday, September 5th , 1905 In a seemingly effortless performance, Roberto León of the Villalba Mercaderes shot down the Sabana Grande Tejedores, 1-0, on 5 hits. "Roberto was just locating so well and using his pitches," Villalba manager Jorge Rosales said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." León recorded 5 strikeouts and 2 walks in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Sabana Grande manager Bernal Echevana said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." Up to now León has recorded a record of 8-12. In 21 starts he has fanned 56 batters in 163.1 innings with a 3.64 ERA.
