Ramírez Holds Corsarios Scoreless
Sunday, July 9th , 1905
The Quebradillas Corsarios manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Anasco Matadioses. The Corsarios were overpowered by Anasco starter Doroteo Ramírez, who hurled his club to victory, 2-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Pablo Tovar said.
Over 9 innings, Ramírez blanked Quebradillas on 8 hits with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Ramírez said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
For the season, Ramírez has logged 3 wins and 17 losses and struck out 64 batters in 179.1 innings while compiling a 3.71 ERA.
