Longoria Fires Shutout in Vejigantes Victory Saturday, June 10th , 1905 The Rincon Ingenieros struggled at the plate against Vejigantes hurler Guillermo Longoria, who shackled them on 5 hits while hurling a complete-game 1-0 shutout. "What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Ingenieros skipper Eneas Ruiz in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow." Longoria finished the game with 1 strikeout and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance. "He pitched real well," Loiza manager Édgar Reyes said. "Guillermo made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively." So far in 17 appearances this season, Longoria has recorded 13 wins and sustained 4 losses.
