Sandoval Tames Chupacabras, 4-0 Wednesday, October 21st , 1903 The Canovanas Chupacabras were almost helpless in their 4-0 loss to the Aguas Buenas Mulos and hurler Florián Sandoval. Sandoval kept the Chupacabras confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Sandoval," Canovanas manager Alejandro Estrada said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 22-year-old right-hander had no walks and 3 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Sandoval said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." Sandoval has made 42 starts, tossed 358 innings, struck out 69 batters and walked 50.
