Herrera Shines, Shuts Out Loiza, 3-0 Thursday, October 8th , 1903 Before the game, Eunosto Herrera said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Parque de los Brillantes, the Brillantes pitcher blanked the Loiza Vejigantes, 3-0. "I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Herrera said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my sinker even when I was behind in the count." The Naranjito starter held Loiza scoreless, giving up 1 hit while registering 2 strikeouts and issuing 4 walks. "We didn't have very many good at-bats," Vejigantes manager Édgar Reyes said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
