Behind Rangel, Fajardo Blanks Anasco, 5-0
Tuesday, October 6th , 1903
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.
Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.
Cleto Rangel of the Fajardo Insolentes proved the point at Estadio de los Insolentes, holding the Anasco Matadioses to 2 hits in a complete game shutout victory.
"Rangel made us look real bad today," Matadioses manager Polideuco GodÃnez said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."
Rangel had 1 strikeout and gave up 3 walks as the Insolentes took the 5-0 win.
In 38 starts this season, Rangel has rung up a 20-15 record and a 2.43 ERA.
