Leyendas Velasco Stops Cornupetas Friday, September 25th , 1903 It wasn't easy but the San Lorenzo Leyendas made it look that way. Starter Crispín Velasco shut out the Cayey Cornupetas despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the San Lorenzo Leyendas cruised to victory, 7-0. Velasco allowed only 3 hits and rang up 1 strikeout but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." In 36 starts this year, Velasco has posted 21 wins while suffering 13 losses. He has pitched 330.2 innings, allowed 263 hits, struck out 141 and has a 2.10 ERA.
