Pérez Hurls 1-0 Masterpiece Saturday, September 5th , 1903 The Vega Baja Caneros met their match today in Catano hurler Rubén Pérez. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 5-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Vega Baja skipper Roberto Rojo said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 1-0 victory, Pérez whiffed 5 and gave up no walks. To this point in the season, Pérez shows a 10-22 record, 33 starts, 276 innings, 90 strikeouts and a 3.72 ERA.
