Jiménez at His Best, Whips Esqueletos Friday, September 4th , 1903 In an outstanding mound performance, Culebra Tortugas starter Amadeo Jiménez fired a complete-game shutout against the Vieques Esqueletos at El Recóndito. Jiménez was the key to the 5-0 Culebra win. The 25-year-old left-hander was in high spirits for much of the game, his mood largely unfazed by the 2 hits and 2 walks he allowed. "2 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter, as long as it was a shutout." His record for the year is 19-13 in 32 starts and Jiménez has a 2.07 ERA.
